How to apply

How to apply

The process of applying to Cambridge starts a bit earlier than for some other universities, and there are a few extra steps, but it isn't complicated, and you shouldn't let this put you off applying.

The application process

Since Cambridge is a collegiate university, applications are handled by individual Colleges and not by Departments.

The same application process is used by all the colleges, though entry requirements (e.g. whether A Level/IB Higher Level Geography is required) may vary slightly.

Pre-interview written assessment

For 2021 entry, some Colleges may require applicants for Geography to take a written assessment at interview, if interviewed.

Assessment format: The assessment for this course (where required) may vary by College. Please see individual College websites for details of which Colleges require applicants to take an at-interview assessment and the expected format of that assessment.

There are no charges associated with taking any at-interview written assessments in Cambridge, and students do not need to be registered for them. Details will be included in the letters inviting applicants to interview.
