Urban Geographies reading group

The aim of the group is to foster community and collaboration among graduate, postdoc and academic colleagues with an interest or research focus concerning some aspect of cities, urbanization or urban life. It is not confined to any particular subdiscipline or intellectual approach within geography and all are welcome, including those using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

The group will meet every other Monday lunchtime in the department and the format is based around one (or potentially two) participants sharing some written work (for instance a draft article, chapter or report) and receiving friendly and constructive input from others. When we don’t have a piece of our own written work to discuss, we’ll share other papers or chapters as the focus for the session.

A preliminary schedule for the rest of term (location TBC) will be:

  • Monday 20th November 12:00-13:00
  • Monday 4th December 12:00-13:00

Conveners: Charlotte Lemanski, Marcus Nyman, Olga Petri
