Tomorrow’s Cities

Tomorrow's Cities is a GCRF Interdisciplinary Hub managed from the University of Edinburgh.

Tomorrow's Cities

It is working across four global cities (Nairobi, Quito, Istanbul and Kathmandu) to bring multi-hazard disaster risk management to the centre of urban planning and development.

Dr Amy Donovan is leading the "Science in Society" strand of the Social Science Research College in the Hub.

This work will examine the flows of knowledge within each city. It will look in particular at the integration of social and physical sciences within the Hub and the production and circulation of multi-hazard risk knowledges within each of the cities, with a focus on how these flows can be transformed in the creation of cultures of risk.

This work involves key collaborators in each city and a range of UK universities. Please visit the main project website for more details.
