Terms and Conditions

It is important to read the following information before submitting data. If you are unhappy with any part of the data collection process, have any recommendations or comments please contact the author.

Data are submitted via email to be translated onto a table. This table will be posted on the internet for public viewing at regular intervals. Special progress reports will be announced on 'Volcano Net'. No names, addresses or e-mails will ever be made available on the internet or disclosed to a third party.

All data is greatly appreciated although submitting data does not guarantee its application. As with all science, different scientific groups studying the same region may have clashing results. For this reason, we have developed a special 'forum' page in order to provoke debate. We intend this to highlight some of the most controversial and interesting questions in the study of large eruptions. We reserve the right to leave out any piece of data.

It is intended that the data will be analysed in late 2003/early 2004 as part of Ben Mason's PhD thesis at Cambridge University. Interesting results and findings will be posted on the website. For more information, please contact the author or see other pages on this site.
