Senior Research Technician (Laboratory and Field Services Technician)

Earth Scientist providing laboratory and field support to the department with a special interest in Quaternary palaeoenvironmental studies.

  • Giving guidance, advice and training to undergraduate students on laboratory techniques and use of apparatus.
  • Organisation and maintenance of the Geography laboratories and Field Equipment.
  • Preparation of equipment and materials for undergraduate and graduate classes.
  • Running procedures for extractions and analyses of samples.
  • Implementation of health and safety in the laboratories.
  • Assisting the Laboratory Manager with the loan of departmental field equipment as part of the Fieldwork Equipment Service, operated primarily through the Geography Science Laboratories.
  • Assist on fieldwork for both teaching and research.
