Book returns

Postal book returns

If you are a recent graduate, member of staff or visitor scholar in the UK who has now left the University and are unable to return to Cambridge, you can return library books by ‘Freepost’ to the University Library for forwarding on to your home library.

University Library books, Faculty and Departmental Library books and College books can all be posted back if eligible users fill out this form to request a pre-paid returns label to return books by freepost.

Individual parcels must not weigh more than 20kg and must not be larger than L 61cm x W 46cm x D46cm. Users can ask for more than one label if needed.

Other remote users

Other remote users can still return items by standard post to:

Cambridge University Library
West Road

We recommend using a tracked service.

Returning books by hand

Current members of the Department of Geography can return library items using the drop-off box located in the basement outside the undergraduate common room in the Main Building (ID card required to enter/exit the building). All other borrowers (from outside Geography) should contact Library staff to make suitable arrangements to borrow and return books.

Books returned to the Department will be returned from your library account during our service opening hours, or at the beginning of the next working day at the latest.
