Information for users with disabilities and injuries

The Library policy is to make the library and its collection as accessible as possible to all potential users. However it is in an old building with physical limitations, so planning and flexibility are required from both sides.

We work with the Disability Resource Centre and the disability team at the University Library [disability@lib.cam.ac.uk] to accommodate specific user needs - detailed information relating to accessibility in the Department of Geography building is also available.

The Library is not physically accessible to those who are permanent wheelchair users as it is on the first floor and not served by the lift. If you are a permanent wheelchair user and wish to have access to Library materials, please contact library staff in advance and we can make arrangements that work for you.

If you require help to find and retrieve material from the shelves, or to access the iDiscover library catalogue whilst in the library, please ask a member of library staff.

If there is any other way in which the Library and its collection can be made more accessible for you, please contact the Library and Information Manager and we can consider any requests.
