  • Any alteration of the loan period is at the Library and Information Manager’s discretion.
  • Material can only be issued by the library staff via Alma (the library management system). Material cannot be borrowed out of hours or when the staff are not in the library.
  • Items are renewed automatically up until the end of the maximum loan period (see table above), unless they have been requested.
  • Your book will be recalled if another user requests it and there is no other available copy in the Geography Library to fulfill that request – you have 3 days to return it back. Recall does not operate during vacation weeks.
  • Fines only apply to long-overdue books (58+ days overdue from the last time the book automatically renewed), which will be treated as lost. The retail price for a brand new copy of the lost book will be added to your library account. You can pay fines online at My Library Account (using a credit or debit card). If you lose or deface any library book, you are liable to pay the replacement cost.
  • Overdue and reminder messages are sent by email, to the email address you registered with the library. These are a courtesy service only. You should always be aware of when your books are due back in case of network or account problems.
