Creating a GIS resource of the transport network of nineteenth-century Britain
We hope in future to be able to create a GIS (Geographical Information Systems) resource of the transport networks of nineteenth-century Britain including the navigable waterways, the main roads and the railways for c.1820, 1851, 1861 and 1881. Pilot mapping of Hertfordshire has been completed.
