This research program run by Max Satchell meshes GIS with conventional historical approaches to investigate the historical geography of the hospital in England from 1100 to 1655. The Wellcome Trust funded the first phase of this project entitled The Medieval English Hospitals GIS Project (Grant No. 066400).
