MPhil in Environmental Science

The Department will not be running this MPhil in academic year 2012-13 and will therefore not be offering admission for October 2012. We expect to run the course again for admission for October 2013 for the academic year 2013-14.

Supervision

The primary purpose of this course is to lay the foundations of training to enable students to undertake a PhD (although students can also take the course as a freestanding training in research methods). Students are assigned an appropriate supervisor at the admission stage, who is likely to be the supervisor through both this MPhil and any subsequent PhD. Any application for continuation to PhD from the MPhil will require the applicant to fulfil all the other requirements for PhD admissions (see separate website pages) including providing a specification of your proposed research.

Some students may wish to contact a prospective supervisor to discuss possible dissertation projects for their MPhil application, and may then name that supervisor in their applicaiton.
